Alaina Collins
Attorney Of Counsel

Alaina Collins is an Indiana attorney and Of Counsel to Justice Litigators, where her practice focuses primarily on family law and domestic-relations matters. She also represents clients in criminal, traffic, CDL, and civil litigation matters. As her practice develops, Alaina is open to taking on additional legal matters across other practice areas where her experience and qualifications allow her to provide effective representation.
Alaina's family-law practice includes representing clients in matters involving divorce, child custody and parenting time, child support, paternity, and other domestic-relations issues. She is committed to helping clients navigate the legal process with a clear understanding of their rights, responsibilities, and available options while advocating for their interests throughout the case.
Before joining Justice Litigators as Of Counsel, Alaina served as a Deputy Prosecutor in Marion County, where she gained substantial courtroom and trial experience handling criminal matters. Her prosecutorial experience included several jury and bench trials involving allegations of sexual battery, battery, resisting law enforcement, possession of cocaine, and animal abuse, among other offenses. This experience gave her firsthand knowledge of how criminal cases are investigated, evaluated, negotiated, and tried.
Alaina also has experience representing commercial drivers in traffic and CDL-related matters, including conducting bench trials involving commercial driver's license citations. She works with both individual drivers and their employers to evaluate the allegations, evidence, and potential consequences of a citation, particularly in light of the federal and state laws governing CDL holders and the prohibition against masking CDL convictions. Her approach is to challenge charges that are not supported by the facts or applicable law and pursue lawful dispositions that accurately reflect the circumstances of the case, including seeking outcomes that avoid the assessment of points or other adverse consequences when legally available. For commercial drivers, these matters can have consequences beyond the immediate citation, including impacts on driving records, employment, and livelihood, making careful and informed representation particularly important.
Additionally, Alaina practiced civil defense litigation, including matters involving motor-vehicle and commercial trucking accidents and insurance defense. Her civil litigation experience has included evaluating claims, developing case strategy, preparing matters for litigation, communicating with opposing counsel and insurance representatives, and advocating for clients through various stages of a case.
Her background across criminal prosecution and civil litigation allows Alaina to approach legal matters from multiple perspectives. She understands that family-law disputes can involve issues that are deeply personal while also requiring careful attention to evidence, procedure, negotiation, and, when necessary, trial advocacy.
Alaina approaches each case with an emphasis on preparation, direct communication, and practical advocacy. She believes clients deserve to understand not only what the law provides, but also how their available legal options may affect their families and their lives.
